Flies ー one of the most well-known kins among insects...
For centuries, they have been avoided as annoying pests, and today is no exception. Most people believe that flies are dirty creatures that bring feelings of discomfort and disgust.
"We all know that they always fly around garbage and eat trash! And also their buzzing sound always gets on our nerves! It's really annoying!,"
you might say.
But, in the first place, who are they?
Who are the "flies," which make us humans keep having the feelings of discomfort toward them, even after we developed civilization and obtained various useful technologies?
And, first and foremost,
Are they 'really' dirty? Are they 'really' annoying?
Can you answer these questions?
Well, you would have never observed them in detail. You would probably have never looked at them from another view of the world.
But that doesn't allow you to notice the actual world of flies.
Why not take a peek into the world you've been avoiding?
I guarantee you'll soon discover an unbelievable, mysterious, fascinating and even sacred world!
Flies are generally hated, but some people actually like them.
For instance, there's "the Dipterist's Club of Japan," where true fly enthusiasts gather, of which I'm a member. I'm always being taught about flies from experienced and kind members.
Such fly-lovers probably didn't love flies from the beginning.
So what made them fall in love with flies?
What is intriguing about flies?
Why not explore the world of flies with us?
